Marie-Claire (she/her) is a writer, director, actress and producer from Treaty 4 territories in Saskatchewan. She is based in Tkarón:to/Toronto and wherever life takes her.
She has participated in residencies in Canada (Banff Centre — Leighton Studios), Belgium (Centre des écritures dramatiques W-B), France (La Chartreuse) and in Martinique (ETC Caraïbes). Her plays, Flush and Peau, published by Éditions L’Interligne, have been awarded and nominated in Canada and in France. She has been involved in the ideation and co-writing of numerous theatre and film projects. Her screenwriting was most notably recognized at the Los Angeles Film Awards, the Canadian Screen Awards and Webfest Berlin. She continues to assist artists, theatre and film companies as a dramaturg and script editor.
In 2024, she directed her first feature Dreaming in Neon, coming out soon.

She is a graduate of the International School of Comedy in Reggio Emilia, Italy and of the George Brown College Theatre Arts program in Toronto.
She remains in constant wonder of birds and most importantly, she loves to hear the woodpecker’s persistent pecking on the trees and the call of the loon.

Sa scénarisation a été reconnue notamment au Los Angeles Film Awards, aux Prix Écrans canadiens et à la Webfest Berlin. Elle continue d’accompagner divers artistes et compagnies en tant que conseillère et scripte-éditrice.
En 2024, elle a réalisé son premier long-métrage, Rêver en néon, bientôt à l’affiche.
Elle a été nominée en jeu entre autres aux prix Dora, Jessie, SATA, au NZ Web Fest et à la Queen Palm International Film Festival.
Elle est diplômée de l'école internationale de Comédie à
Reggio Emilia en Italie et du programme de théâtre au collège
George-Brown à Toronto.
Éternellement émerveillée par les oiseaux, elle adore le son du pic-bois qui tape sur les arbres tout comme le cri distinctif du huard.
